Dear Parent and/or Guardian:

My name is Joshua Davies, I will be your son or daughter’s health and physical education teacher.  I also have the privilege to serve as the head varsity baseball coach for Tri-Village.  In this letter I want to briefly describe the health and physical education programs at Tri-Village Local School District and what your child can expect to learn during their time within my courses. Let me begin, however, by briefly describing my professional background.

My degree is in health and physical education with an endorsement within adapted physical education from Wright State University. Upon completion of my degree, I also met the requirements to successfully meet to standards to pass the Adapted Physical Education National Standards to earn my credentials as a Certified Adapted Physical Education (C.A.P.E)  I began my career serving as an adapted physical education teacher within the Dayton Public School system for 15 years.  During my time in Dayton, I also had numerous opportunities to coach baseball and golf within the district.  In 2014, I completed my masters degree from the University of Dayton earning a degree in educational leadership. In 2017, I had the opportunity to join the staff here at Tri-Village as a Health and Physical Education teacher. I had the true honor of being named the “Teacher of the Year” in the year 2021.

My goal is to help students find a variety of ways to enjoy being physically active so that they will be able to get all of the physical, emotional, intellectual, and social benefits that come from someone who lives a healthy lifestyle.

The program has been designed to focus on 3 major areas that can contribute to one’s physical health and well-being: LifeLong Leisure Activities, Wellness Concepts, and Fitness.

I will attempt to provide all of the students with team experiences that are both beneficial and enjoyable. I am very proud of the health and physical education program we offer at Tri-Village and look forward to being your child’s teacher.
