Hello and welcome to my classroom! My name is Kara Burns. I attended Ashland University and am pleased to be welcomed back into the Tri-Village Community! In the 2022-23 school year, I am teaching English 9, English 11, ACT Prep, and Drama. I am looking forward to getting to know every student in every class!

This year’s Language Arts classes will be challenging. I have high expectations for my students. We will be diving into novels, plays, essays, short stories, and poems with curiosity and earnestness. We will analyze each text and answer in-depth questions. One of the best ways of learning is to think and discuss ideas, which we will be doing often in this class! In each English class, students will practice grammar and vocabulary on a weekly basis. They will be expected to use the practice in their daily writing. 

I want all students to succeed and I understand that each student learns differently. I am available to students before and after school and during lunch or during my prep period for extra help.
