Dear Parents/Guardians,

My name is Mr. Logan Brubaker and your son/daughter is enrolled in my English language arts class this year.  While each year presents unique challenges, I am looking forward to another exciting year. It is my goal to provide all students with an educationally challenging, yet fun and safe experience in my classroom.  

Before proceeding, I would like to tell you a little about myself.  This is my tenth year as a full-time teacher at Tri-Village Schools. In 2013 I graduated with a Bachelor of Science degree in Secondary Education from Indiana University-East and a Master of Arts degree in Educational Leadership from Concordia University in 2019. I consider myself a lifelong Patriot as I graduated from TVHS in 2008, currently coach boys golf, junior high boys basketball and completed my student-teaching at Tri-Village with Mrs. Brenda Miller.  I feel incredibly blessed to have this opportunity and to continue to assist in maintaining the excellent tradition at TVHS.

This year’s English Language Arts course will be very demanding.  We will cover multiple skill specific units, read core pieces of literature and many supplemental texts, and practice writing on a daily basis.  Throughout this course I will stress a higher level of thinking, and we will analyze the material we are learning.  Appropriate analysis will stem from comprehension, attention to detail, and the willingness to think of our classroom material on a grander scale.  I want students to build personal relationships with what they are learning thus igniting their thought process about their own lives and futures.

I have extremely high expectations for all my students, and for that I will not apologize. I am asking for your help to maintain those expectations by checking with your son/daughter to make sure that his/her work is being done. I am available to help students individually before school, during my prep periods, and after school. MOST IMPORTANTLY… Providing your child with the best possible educational experience heavily depends on our collaboration. Our partnership is a critical aspect of success! Therefore, I highly encourage ongoing communication and look forward to working together to achieve a common goal.
