Are you looking for a start in life and to heighten the skills you'll utilize frequently in your future?  Consider joining the "Life Skills 101 Club!"  Starting on March 18th, we will be meeting in Mr. Lowrie's room during lunch every Wednesday to cover topics such as taxes, interviews, cooking, car maintenance, etc.  See Katie Watern with any questions. 
 
On Thursday, May 7 the senior class along side some staff and community members will be out in the community serving citizens through a variety of service projects. Students who are participating, please pick up a permission slip form in the office.  See Mrs. Black with any questions. 
 
Key Club will be having a meeting on Thursday, March 12th, during lunch, in the auditorium.  PLease bring your lunch and plan on attending.  This is for all members 9th-12th grades.

Local Scholarships will be available to pick up in the front office starting on Monday, March 9. If you have a GPA of 2.5 or higher, there is a packet available to you. These will be due back to Mrs. Black NO LATER than Thursday, April 9, 2020 at 3:15PM.

Darke County Foundation Scholarship Applications Due March 31, 2020!
 
Seniors attending a Darke County high school can win between $500 and $2,500 through Darke County Foundation scholarships. Students who are planning to attend a 4-year college, 2-year college, or shorter vocational program are eligible to apply. By filling out one general application, students are eligible for 75 scholarships totaling about $150,000.  
 
Apply online at www.darkecountyfoundation.org/scholarshipinformation. Awards are based on the following criteria (not necessarily in this order): grade point average, ACT score, activities, financial need, and essay. Some awards are merit-based without regard to financial need. Some awards do not require ACT score. Provisional recipients will be announced at each high school’s graduation. Scholarship money will be disbursed following the student’s first semester in college, providing the student earns at least a 2.75 grade point average.

Interested in joining the Marching Band's Color Guard this season? There will be open practices on Tuesday March 3rd and Tuesday March 10th, from 3-4 PM after school. If you're a high school student at Tri-Village , you're invited to Midnight Mania! On March 20th from 7pm-Midnight, NHS is hosting a night full of games, movies, cornhole, dancing and food!! The cost in 10 dollars per person including a free midnight snack and additional concessions will be available. Tickets will be sold during high school lunch starting Thursday the 20th. Attention Juniors!  We have ONE game left for concessions.  It is this Friday, February 14th.  We are also in need of Juniors to help do crafts, play music, and play games with elementary students during Elementary Fun Night on the 15th.  See Ms. Gutierrez or Mrs. Bingham with any questions.

There will be a College Credit Plus meeting on February 26th at 6:30 PM in the Commons. Students who are interested in applying for College Credit Plus for the 2020-2021 school year who are not already enrolled in the program- must attend. If you have any questions, please contact Mrs. Black.
 
The state-sponsored ACT will be administered to all members of the Class of 2021 on Tuesday, February 25, 2020. The pre-test portion will be completed on Monday, February 24, beginning at 115pm. This is a mandatory test and all juniors must be present. Please contact Mrs. Black with any questions.

Listen up!  The Junior high and High School Track and Field teams will be offering a new event this year...(drum roll)...the Pole Vault. The school has purchased a pole vault pit and this event is for girls and boys both. IF you are interested or planning on being a part of the track and field team and would like to pole vault then come to the introductory meeting right after the announcements on Wednesday February 5th in Mr. McCollum's room to sign up and get information. This announcement is only for the BRAVE HEARTS!

Students, be aware that the Ohio voting registration deadline is set for Tuesday, February 18th at 9pm.  If you will be 18 years of age on or before November 3rd, 2020, then you have the ability to register to vote NOW, and will be eligible to vote in the upcoming Ohio primary to be held on March 17, 2020.  Please see Mr. Beard for details on how to register online or by mail.

The Light Foundation’s 12 Annual Youth Wild Turkey Hunt is April 17-19. Congratulations to Micah Ayette, Katelyn Hanes, Daniel Watern, and Caleb Derksen for being selected to sing in the District 11 OMEA Honor Choir this past weekend.  After auditioning and being selected, these students performed with over 100 other students from schools around the area.  Micah and Daniel were even selected to perform solos.  Congratulations everyone!"

The Fort Loramie Prom Dress exchange will be Sunday January 19.  Drop off will be from 11-1, browsing will be from 1:30-3:30, and then you can pick up all purchased dresses and accessories between 3:30-4:30.  See the office for more information if interested.

Lifetouch will return on December 10th to take Senior Composite re-takes that were supposed to be done on 12/2/2019.  Due to technical difficulties out of our control they will now be back on 12/10/19.  Please plan accordingly.  They will be in the auditorium starting at 6:30 am.   
 
Sign up sheets for high school boys basketball concessions are posted outside of Ms. Gutierrez's room.  Each Junior is required to work five concession shifts.  There are two shifts during the evening.  Juniors who work five concession shifts will be awarded a discounted ticket to Prom.  Juniors who work ten concession shifts will be awarded a free ticket to Prom.  Juniors who work less than five concession shifts will pay full price for a Prom ticket.  We depend on the help of parents and students to successfully run this fundraiser.  Please see the announcement in the Junior Class Google Classroom for more information.  If you have any questions, please contact Ms. Gutierrez or Mrs. Bingham.  Thank you.

Applications for National Honor Society will be available beginning on Monday. You must have a 3.5 GPA to be eligible, and applications can be picked up in the office or from Mrs. Raffel in room H203.
Although the 3.5 GPA is the initial qualification for applying to NHS, scholarship is just one of the pillars of the organization. National Honor Society is seeking members who demonstrate outstanding character, service, and leadership.

Applications will be due January 6th. If you have any questions, please contact Mrs. Raffel.

Congratulations to Harley ketring for being named all-conference in the CCC. He also was a regional qualifier in the Southwest District Saturday in Cedarville, and will compete this Saturday in the regional tournament in Troy at 1:30. Make sure you congratulate Harley when you see him today!
 
The final baseball open field for the fall will be tomorrow, Wed. Oct. 23rd, after school.

Beginning Monday, October 21st and lasting until Friday, November 15th, the TV Yearbook will be organizing a drawing.  Any 7th-12th grade student that purchases a yearbook at $50.00 through those dates will be entered into a drawing to win a $25.00 Olive Garden gift card!  This does not pertain to yearbooks purchased prior to October 21st!  Yearbooks may be ordered at school or online at yearbookforever.com. 
 
The Twin Valley South High School National Honor Society will be sponsoring a Pink-Out Cancer Awareness event this Friday at the TVS vs. Tri-Village Football Game. Wear PINK tee shirts. Cancer pre-screening information will be available. A Luminaria Memory Walk on the track around the football field will take place 10 minutes after the conclusion of the game. Before & during the game, fans may purchase and decorate a Luminaria in Honor of, in Memory of, or in Recognition of a Loved One affected by cancer. Cost is $1. Randolph Southern's Spirit Club is hosting the Rebel Color Run/Walk on Saturday, October 26th.  All are welcome to attend.  Cost is $25.  The event starts at 9am with sameday registration beginning at 8.  Come support a great cause and get a good workout.

SET YOURSELF UP FOR A GOOD TIME! National Honors Society is hosting a volleyball tournament on Wednesday, October 23rd. Deadline to submit your teams of 6 is October 22nd. Please submit your teams and team name to Ms. Raffel or Abbi Lipps! No late submissions! Cost is 5 dollars per player and 2 dollars for door admission! Competition begins at 7 and ends at 9.   •  Check out the site.  Look for schedules under fall, winter or spring sports; click on your team, click on schedules and they are right there.
  •  Click on the alerts section and register for alerts for your team.  Get alerts on email or text!
  •  Go to Twitter feeds on the right hand side of the site and follow us on Twitter @TV_AthleticDept
  •  If you would like to see some of your photos or videos uploaded on the site, talk to your coach about making that happen!

  1. Go to GETVNN.COM click “Sign up”
  2. Enter your information
  3. It Worked! (Verify your information with an email)
  4. Check your inbox for an email from VNN.  “Click verify my account”  You’re all set to sign-in.

Alerts / Subscribing to Teams

  1. Click “Go to Alerts” on your  VNN Dashboard
  2. Click “Add Team”
  3. Look up school name and select your team/organization
  4. A subscription card will now show with the team you selected
  5. You can add more teams the same way even from multiple schools.

The Tri-Village faculty and staff will be hosting financial aid night on Tuesday, November 5th at 6:30PM in the Commons. You and your parents are invited to attend! They will be discussing many financial aid opportunities for college and also helping with filling out the FAFSA.  If you plan to fill out the FAFSA on Nov 5, please have your FSA ID and your parents FSA ID available! Citizens, it is your responsibility to keep our Republic functioning by participating in the task of casting your ballot...Gooooooo Vote!!! Any student who will be 18 years of age on or before November 5th, 2019 may register to vote before the deadline on registrations on Monday, October 7th, 2019.  See Mr. Beard in room H210 for instructions on how to register.

Do you like burritos?  Do you like supporting a good cause?  Do you like rich historical facts of American government and the system that created this country?  Then you should come out to the Chipotle in Richmond on Wednesday October 23rd from 5-9 to support the Tri-Village 8th grade field trip to Washington DC.  If you mention this cause, 33% of the proceeds will go towards making that trip a possibility.

Student Council is sponsoring it's first blood drive on Wednesday September 25. If you would like to donate, please see Mrs. Stump for more information. Reminder, you must be 16 by the date of the drive in order to donate blood. Also, if you donate three times during high school, then you will receive a red chord to wear at graduation.

Attention all Juniors and families,

You are responsible for the junior high girls and boys basketball concession stand! There is now a sign up sheet outside of Mrs. Binghams' room with the games listed for you to sign up. You must sign up and not just show up so that we have an idea of how many will be working.

Reminder that Girls JH Track conditioning starts Wednesday after school. If you are still interested in signing up, the sign up form is in the office or you can pop in to Mrs. Bell's classroom anytime. 
Interested in joining the Marching Band's Color Guard this season? There will be open practices on Tuesday March 3rd and Tuesday March 10th, from 3-4 PM after school.
