It's that time of year to elect new officers and student council members. If you are in high school and would like to run for an office, pick up a paper outside of Mrs. Stump's room. These papers need returned to Mrs. Stump, no later than Monday, May 20!

The 7th and 8th grade boys track team will be represented in the State Track and Field Meet Saturday May 11. The Top 24 best times in the the state of ohio that are electronically time amoung all divisions get to compete in the state meet. Tri Village has two young men who have made the qualifying times to compete and they are Justin Finkbine in the 110 meter hurdles and Reed Wehr in the 400 and 200 meter dash. Congratulations and good luck.

A Jostens representative will return to take orders for your letter jackets on Thursday May 16th from 7:30-8 in the cafeteria. Payment will be due in full on the order day. Order forms are available in the office.

Congratulations to the 7th and 8th grade boys track and field team on a great effort at the Cross county conference meet last night. 8th place winner was Wyatt Ketring in the 110 m Hurdles, 7th place winner was Wyatt Ketring in the 800 m run. 6th place winners were: Blake Siegrist in the discus and Christian Cantrell in the shot put. 5th place winners were: Gage Lochard in the Long Jump and the 4 x 200 relay team of Devon Huff, Gage Lochard, Andrew Holzapfel, Zane Osborne. 4th place winners was the 4 X 400 relay team of Andrew Holzapfel, Zane Osborne, Joshua Murphy, Wyatt Ketring. 3rd place winner was Blake Siegrist in the High Jump. 2nd place winner was Reed Wehr in the 100 m dash. And Special recognition goes to ....drum roll...Justin Finkbine who was Cross County Conference Champion in the High Jump, 110 meter Hurdles and 200 meter Hurdles. Awesome effort Justin! Congratulations Team.

The Middle School and High School Archery Team travels to Louisville, Kentucky today to compete in the National Archery Tournament with nearly 16,000 other students. Good luck Archery Team at the National Archery Tournament.

Attention JH and HS students planning to play a sport next year,  Wayne Healthcare is offering $10 physicals at Family Health on May 1st and May 23rd from 6-9pm.  This is a great opportunity to get your physicals for next year out of the way.  Please see Chelsea Sweeney with any questions. 
 
Mrs. Karyn Smith's class is hosting a Save the Caps program.  They want to keep plastic out of the landfills and use them to make benches for the Darke County Bike Path.  Please save caps and put them in the bucket outside of the library or drop them off in Mrs. Smith's classroom.

Students, you are invited to attend the 3rd Annual Majority Awareness Walk to be held this Monday, April 22nd which is the day after Easter, at 10:00 am. Meet at the Annie Oakley Statue at the end of Broadway in Greenville with your purple, green, or Majority shirt to show your stance against drug, alcohol and tobacco use amongst students. The walk will conclude at the city building with the Mayor declaring Majority Awareness Week followed by hearing from student speakers and community members about the positive stance our community is taking. Be the Majority. Be drug-free. We will see you at the walk!
 
Attention all Junior High and High School students! Today, Wednesday, April 17th is the LAST day to submit your roster and money to Mr. Lowrie or NHS member, for the Volleyball Tournament.  Remember, the cost is $5 per person and 6 people per team. The tournament is April 24th. For any late submissions, the cost will be $7 per person. 
 
Congratulations to the 7th and 8th grade boys Track and Field Team on their performance at the  Ansonia Cubs Relay last night. Place winners are as follows: 5th place was the team of Gage Lochard and Devon Huff in the long jump, the 4 x 200 meter Relay of Devon Huff, Andrew Holzapfel, Zane Osborne, Wyatt Ketring. 4th place winners were the Distance Medley of Daniel Watern, Carter Finkbine, Brennen Fellers, Josh Murphy and the Shot Put team of Christian Cantrell and Blake Siegrist. Third place winners were the Discus Team of Blake Siegrist and Christian Cantrell and the 4 x 400 Relay team of Andrew Holzapfel, Zane Osborne, Josh Murphy, Wyatt Ketring. Our 2nd place winners were the 4 x 100 Relay of Christian Cantrell, Zane Osborne, Andrew Holzapfel, Justin Finkbine. And our 1st place winners were...drum roll...Justin Finkbine and Blake Siegrist in the High Jump and Justin Finkbine and Wyatt Ketring in the Shuttle Hurdles. Great Effort boys.

Key Club will be celebrating Earth Week April 23-26! ATTENTION ALL JUNIOR HIGH STUDENTS: 7th and 8th grades will be competing against each other--> Key Club needs donations of toilet paper rolls and clean, 1/2 gallon plastic milk/orange juice/juice jugs. These will be used to celebrate Earth Week with the K-2 grades. The class that donates the most will win (prize yet to be determined!). All donations need to be brought to Mrs. Binghams' room so they can be accounted for. Thank you in advance!

Girl's JH Track placed 3rd out of 12 teams at the ARcanum Invite.

Halle Bell took home 3 1st place medals in the 100, 200 and as part of the 4 x 200 relay, which also included Natalie Siebers, Torie Richards, and Angelea Depoy.

Torie also took home 1st in the 200 Hurdles, and 2nd in the 1600 meter run.

Morgan Hunt placed 1st in the high jump

Lorryn Metzcar placed 2nd in the discus and 3rd in the shot put.

Several girls ran their personal best times as well! Great job ladies!

Student Council is sponsoring another blood drive on Monday April 15.  If you would like to donate, please see Mrs. Stump for paperwork.  Remember if you donate three times during high school you will receive a red chord to wear at graduation.

Attention Juniors and Seniors: Prom tickets will be on sale from April 10th- April 12th.  Don't forget that a completed Prom Agreement must be filled out when purchasing tickets.  No late tickets will be sold.   
 
There will be a Key Club meeting today during lunch.
 
The Tri-Village football coaching staff is excited to put on a non-contact football camp for students in grades 2-8 on May 9 and 10.  The cost is $30 if pre-registered, or $35 the day of.  This camp will be held out on the football field and will cover all basic skills from blocking to punting.  Please see coaches Burk or Alliston for more information.

The girls JH track team came in 2nd at the FM meet last night! We had several great finishes including;

Halle Bell placed 1st in the 100 M Dash and the 200 M Dash!
Loryn Metzcar placed 1st in the Shot AND Discus!
Torie Richards placed 1st in the mile and 2nd in the 800
Morgan Hunt placed 2nd in the high jump with a jump of 4'8" .
The 4 x 100 relay of Bella Black, Natalie Siebers, Abby Buteau, and Angelea Depoy placed 3rd.
The 4 x 200 relay team of Halle Bell, Torie Richards, Morgan Hunt, and Angelea Depoy placed 1st!
Jade Murphy placed 3rd in Shot put AND discus

If you do so, then you will be eligible to vote in the upcoming primary in the state of Ohio on May 7th, 2019. Please see Mr. Beard, who is an official registrar, for help registering to vote if you meet the requirement. Again, you can register and participate in the primary in May if you will be 18 years of age on or before the general election date in November.

Good Morning, Tri-Village. Today is a very special and monumental day for one of our beloved teachers. Mr. Beard was born on March 18, 1979, which makes him 40 years old today! We would like to share just a few things from the year Mr. Beard was born. In 1979 you could buy a gallon of gasoline for $0.86 and the average monthly rent was $280. ESPN was launched on cable television in September of 1979! Popular Movies in 1979 were Rocky II, The Amityville Horror, and The Muppet Movie. The Love Boat, Dallas and Happy Days were popular television shows back in the year Mr. Beard was born! One important technology note from 1979 - The Sony Walkman was introduced! Does anyone actually know what that is?   Most importantly - Mr. Beard was born in 1979 we are glad we are able to celebrate birthday number 40 with him today!! Make sure you wish him a happy birthday when you see him today!  
 
The Tri-Village Archery Team competed in the Ohio State Archery Tournament this past weekend. The Middle School Team qualified for the National Archery Tournament with a team score of 3,006. The High School Team qualified for the National Archery Tournament with a team score of 3,131. Congratulations to both teams for making it to the National Archery Tournament in May.  
 
Purchase a yearbook from March 15th to April 19th and you will be eligible for the drawing for a "Movie" basket. One student from junior high and one from high school will be drawn on Monday April 22nd. Basket is over $35.00 value! Don't miss out!

Attention all Juniors... The Meningococcal Vaccine is a required immunization for Twelfth grade. It protects against meningococcal disease and bacterial meningitis. All current 11th grade students: please plan to attend the free clinic this Saturday, March 16th from 8:00 am until 1:00 pm at SPIRIT Medical Transport on State Route 49 (1 mile south of the fairgrounds) in Greenville. The vaccine will be provided at NO COST to current 11th grade students at this location and date only. Information about the clinic was mailed home to parents and guardians last week. If someone other than a custodial parent is bringing you to the clinic, you must have a written note giving permission for that person to sign for your immunization.If you have already received this immunization, please bring a copy of your record to the school clinic as soon as possible. Immunization records must be received before the first day of your senior year.

Congratulations to our boys and girls powerlifting teams for their performance at Bradford over the weekend.  The boys team placed 4th and the girls team placed 5th overall.  Also congratulations to William White, Nate Sims, and Wyatt Plush for all receiving first place in their weight classes.  Great job guys!

Trivia Club
Here at Tri-Village High School we have so many bright minded students and some of us had the idea of creating a trivia club to test our brains. So, come and put your brilliant mind to the test at Trivia club! We will play quiz games such as Jeopardy and Kahoot and there might even be prizes for the winners. But, most importantly we play to have fun!
Where: Mrs. Raffel’s room (H203)
When: Every Thursday after school from 2:45 to 3:30 (and if you can’t stay that long you may leave) starting next week.
For grades: 9-12
Because the meeting time is after school you are allowed to bring snacks! Just make sure you clean up your mess. We will play games like Jeopardy, Kahoot, Quizlet live, and Trivial Pursuit. You are also welcome to bring your own trivia games if you have some.

Good luck to Lucie and Edie Morris in their district swim competitions Friday at the Miami University. Edie is seeded 9th in the 200 individual medley. Lucie is seeded first in the 50 yard freestyle and 2nd in 100 backstroke. Good luck girls! 
 
Congratulations to the TV powerlifting team in their last meet.  The girls team placed 6th and the boys team placed 4th.  Well done to all the participants! 
 
Do you want to go to Washington D.C. this summer with other high schoolers from across the country? Darke Rural Electric sends two students each summer to join hundreds of other students in an all-expenses paid tour of Washington D.C. During the tour you will get the opportunity to visit national monuments, a wax museum, the White House, and even meet our district representative! This year the trip will take place June 14th to June 20th. All you have to do is apply by March 1st for a chance to go on this life changing trip! Congratulations to Edie and Lucie Morris in their recent swim meet at Trotwood. Edie was sectional champ in the 200 individual medley and seeded 9th at the district meet this Friday. Lucie was sectional champ in the 50 yard freestyle and was seeded first at the district meet. She also finished 2nd in the 100 backstroke and is seeded third for Friday. Good luck, girls!

The college credit plus night originally scheduled for 2.21 and then again for 2.19 has been changed once again to 2.26 due to our HS girls basketball team tournament play. 2/4/2019 
The college credit plus meeting originally schedules for February 21 has been changed to February 19 at 630 OM in the commons area.  This is a mandatory meeting if you plan to be a part of the college credit plus program for 2019-2020.

Wednesday, February 6, you will be doing the mandatory pre-ACT. This will be a two hour session of information that MUST be filled out prior to taking your ACT at Tri-Village. All students (MVCTC, Edison, and TV students) must be in attendance. We will meet in the commons area at 8:00 AM to begin this process. (Donuts and Juice will be provided) MVCTC students who ride the bus will be able to get into the building if you are unable to make other travel arrangements and you will not be going to CTC that day. This is a scheduled early release day for TV, so TV students are able to leave at the regular early release time. If you have any questions, please contact Mrs. Black or Mr. Morris. Also- please remember that the ACT will be given on February 20. This is a mandatory test and you must be present!

The College Credit Plus Meeting that was scheduled for 2/21/2019 has been moved to 2/19/19 for scheduling reasons. The meeting will take place in the commons area and will begin at 6:30 pm. This is for new CCP students. If you are currently a CCP student you do not need to attend.

The High School Archery Team had a dual meet with Randolph Southern High School.  Three archers were in the top 10.

Attention Juniors,  Time is running out for you to work concession shifts for HS boys basketball. This is our major fundraiser for Prom and Graduation. It is a requirement that all Juniors work at least three concession shifts in order to attend Prom. There are 6 games/12 shifts left and the next one is tonight. Please see the board outside of the STEM lab to sign up. Congrats to Mason Willetts, Lissa Siler, and MaddieDowning for earning their tickets for free already!  

Huge game at the Battleground this Thursday at 5:30. Comeout and support the Lady Patriots basketball team as theytake on Covington. Both teams are undefeated in league play and 12-1 overall. All students in grades K-12 wearinga Tri-Village shirt will get in for free.

The Tri-Village powerlifting team competed this weekend at the Springfield Northeastern Top Gun Power Lifting Meet. With over 200 lifters present, the boys team placed 2nd and the girls team placed 6th. Congratulations to both teams!

Attention Staff and Students - The Adopt-a-Family total is at $9377.24 after a very generous donation from the New Madison Kiwanas. Thank you to all who have donated for such a good cause. We have until Friday at noon to reach our $13,000 goal so we can watch Mr. Beard shave his head and beard Friday afternoon. Put your money in the donation boxes today!

We would like to remind you that you can still purchase raffle tickets for the laptop that has been donated for Adopt-a-Family. Raffle tickets are $1 each or 6 for $5 and will be sold the rest of this week in Mrs. Fisherback or Mrs. Stump's room. Stop by and take a look at the laptop and buy your tickets.

The Tri-Village Power Lifting Team competed at the Iron Eagle Classic PLM at Madison Plains High School on Saturday Dec. 8. There were 12 schools represented. 6 Teams and a total of 200 lifters that participated. Team Results for the Boys: 1). Madison Plains: 7,080lbs. 2). Bradford: 6,015lbs. 3). Tri-Village: 5,915lbs. 4). Springfield Kenton Ridge: 5,910lbs. 5). Oregon Clay: 4,100lbs. 6). Allen East. Team Girls Results: 1). Madison Plains: 2,850lbs. 2). Springfield Kenton Ridge: 2,405lbs. 3). Bradford: 2,405lbs. 4). Oregon Clay: 2,395lbs. 5). Allen East 6). Tri-Village: 1,215lbs.. Individual places were awarded 1-4 for 9/10th grade Div. and 11/12th grade Div.. Team places were awarded 1-3. The picture attached is Wyatt Plush lifting 485lbs. on the Dead Lift. This meet was a push/pull meet. Tri-Village next meet is Saturday Dec. 15 at Springfield Northeastern (Push/Pull)

Attention Staff and Students - Today kicks off our two weeks of fundraising for Adopt-a-Family.  This year we are adopting 11 families.  Within those families there are 32 children we will be buying presents for.  Our goal this year is $13,000 and we need your help in reaching that goal.  Donations can be brought in anytime during the next two weeks.  If you would like to be in the drawing for a chance to help shave Mr. Beard's head if we reach our goal then please make sure you give your donations to Mr. Beard, Mrs. Stump or Mrs. Fisherback.  Those teachers will also have donation letters for anyone who would like to pick one up.  For every $25 donated your name will be entered into the drawing.  

Hot Chocolate and coffee will be sold tomorrow and Thursday in Mrs. Stump's room during homeroom.  Please make sure you check in with your first period teacher before getting in line for hot chocolate.  

Finally, don't forget about the food drive competition that will be going on this week and next.  Bring in those canned goods and help your class win a pizza party!

Intel core i3 processor, 4 GB RAM, windows 10 pro, 320 GB hard drive and a
14 in screen has been donated by Tech Force Onsite.  Raffle tickets are available from Mrs. Fisherback or Mrs.Stump.  The tickets are $1 each or 6 tickets for $5.  The winner will be drawn during the elementary carnival held December 14th.  Winners need not be present to win.

Darke County Science Day is a science competition open to any student in Darke County.  Participants have the opportunity to win awards and prizes for their research and experimentation in a number of science categories.  If you are interested in completing a Science Fair project for the Darke County Science Day, please contact Ms. Gutierrez.  

Halloween dress up day will be on Wednesday, the 31st here at school.  Costumes must be school appropriate.  Yearbook is asking for a dollar donation to participate.  IF you participate (play) in the Haunted Dodgeball Tournament on Monday the 29th, you may dress up on the 31st at no cost!!

Good Morning staff and students!  Several staff members participated in the annual chili cook off as many of you know! The wonderful aroma of cooking chili filled the hallways on Thursday.  Well...it is with great pleasure we announce the winners of the staff chili cook off.   Mrs. Harris was our prevailing champion who had won for three years in a row!  This year;  however, we have a tie!  This year's co-chili-cook-off champions are Mrs. Harris and Mr. Judy!  Thank you to the staff for making this year's event such a success!!

Key Club is collecting donations for Trick or Treat UNICEF from now until November 2nd.  Each homeroom has been supplied with a class jar that donations can be placed in during your homeroom.  The class with the largest donation amount at the end of the day on Friday, November 2nd, will receive a donut party (and drinks).  Please help Key Club reach their goal so that they can assist children with necessary immunizations, medical treatment, clean water, and food.  Every penny counts! Thank you in advance and good luck to your homeroom!

The Soils Evaluation Team and FFA Would like to thank you all for the send off on Friday! The Teams traveled to Newark, Ohio on Saturday to compete in the State Finals. The Urban Soils Team placed 9th overall in the state of Ohio with Maddie Downing placing 4th high individual and the Rural Team placed 20th overall in the state of Ohio with Gavin Lochard also placing 4th high individual! There are over 320 FFA chapters in Ohio and over 25,000 FFA Members! Congratulations to our teams!!

High School Student Council will be sponsoring a blood drive on Wed, Oct. 31.  You must be 16 years old to donate and you must have an appointment.  By donating blood you will save up to three lives and receive a free tshirt and cookies.  Also, if you donate three times, you will receive a red chord to wear at graduation.  For more information, please see Mrs. Stump.

The FFA Soils Evaluation Teams have qualified for the State Contest! This is the 3rd straight year for the Urban Team to qualify for the State Contest! This will be the Agricultural Team's first trip to State! Urban Team members were Johnny Crawford placing 5th Overall, Maddie Downing, Meghan Downing, Jadyn Sharp, Jared Godown and Kelsie Wehr. The Agricultural Team members were Gavin Lochard placing 2nd Overall, Christyana Roberts, Brice Miller and Madison Crawford! The teams will travel to a location somewhere in Ohio on October 13th! Congratulations to both teams!!

Attention students in grades 7-12,

The Tri-Village Community School Fair event will be held on
Oct. 5th and 6th.  Categories include most patriotic pumpkin for preschool and kindergarten, cutest pumpkin for 1st and 2nd grade, best carved pumpkin for 3rd and 4th grade, best decorated pumpkin for 5th and 6th grade, best buckeye pumpkin for 7th and 8th grade, and then all high schoolers can any category they'd like to participate in.

Each category will be awarded a 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place prize.  The grand prize in each category will receive $5.   Pumpkins will be decorated at home and can be brought in before or after school. They also can be dropped off on Sat. from 8:00 -8:45.  Judging will be held on Sat. around 9:00 a.m.. All pumpkins need to remain at the event until 3:00 p.m. on Saturday for the public to view.  We look forward to seeing your creations!

Letter Jackets - Jostens will return on Wednesday, September 26th from 7:15-8:00 am in the school cafeteria.  Payment due in full on order day.  Extra packets are available in the office. 

The boys golf team beat Covington at Echo Hills 186-201. They were led by Aiden Collins' personal best score with a 43 and Gage Hileman contributed with a 44. The boys move to 8-3 in CCC play. 

This coming November 6th is the General Election in the United States.  The registration deadline is Monday, October 9th at 9pm.  If there are any students who are or will be 18 years of age before the general election, please fill out a voter registration form and submit them via mail or directly to the Darke County Board of Elections.  See Mr. Beard about the registration process in H210.

The boys golf team moved to 7-3 in the CCC with wins over Mississinawa Valley and Ansonia last night at White Springs Golf Course. Gage Hileman led the way with a 42 and Dylan Holsapple had a 44.

Darke Rural Electric sends two students each summer to join hundreds of other students in an all-expenses paid tour of Washington D.C. During the tour you will get the opportunity to visit national monuments, a wax museum, the White House, and even meet our district representative! This year the trip will take place June 14th to June 20th. All you have to do is apply by March 1st for a chance to go on this life changing trip! Students, you are invited to attend the 3rd Annual Majority Awareness Walk to be held this Monday, April 22nd which is the day after Easter, at 10:00 am.  Meet at the Annie Oakley Statue at the end of Broadway in Greenville with your purple, green, or Majority shirt to show your stance against drug, alcohol and tobacco use amongst students.  The walk will conclude at the city building with the Mayor declaring Majority Awareness Week followed by hearing from student speakers and community members about the positive stance our community is taking.  Be the Majority.  Be drug-free.  We will see you at the walk! 
 
Attention all Junior High and High School students! Today, Wednesday, April 17th is the LAST day to submit your roster and money to Mr. Lowrie or NHS member, for the Volleyball Tournament.  Remember, the cost is $5 per person and 6 people per team. The tournament is April 24th. For any late submissions, the cost will be $7 per person.

Also, for the winner of the "Promposal" competition! We had some very creative entries, but this year's winner is... Bailey Towery and her "periodic" proposal! Congratulations to the Boys 7th and 8th grade Track and Field Team, drum roll, on Winning the Clayton Murphy Invitational last night among a 10 teams competing last night. 1st Place winners are: Justin Finkbine in the 110 meter Hurdles and the 200 meter Hurdles, Reed Wehr in the 100 meter dash, 400 meter dash and the 200 meter dash. 2nd place winners are: the 4x100 meter relay team of Christian Cantrell, Zane Osborne, Andrew Holzapfel and Blake Siegrist, plus Justin Finkbine in the High jump. 3rd place winners are: the 4x200 meter relay team of Devon Huff, Brennen Fellers, Andrew Holzapfel, Zane Osborne, and our 4x400 Relay team of Andrew Holsapfel, Zane Osborne, Josh Murphy and Wyatt Ketring. 4th place winners are: Wyatt Ketring in the 110 meter hurdles.
