Elementary Highlights 2021-2022

2021-2022 Highlights

September: 

  • All State Diagnostic Testing successfully completed by Sept. 30th.  Much in part to 1:1 ratio of Chromebooks.   

  • All teachers completed the WEP training Professional Development towards their required Gifted Hours.

  • Our PBIS efforts continued with the purchase of Book Worm Vending Machines.  This was a hit for the students and staff.  

 

October:

  • Oct. 1st we announced our first Patriot of the Month and held our first Lunch with the Principal.  This continued every month throughout the school year. 

  • Oct. 8th students participated in Fire Prevention Day. 

  • Oct. 10th we had our introduction of our Gus, our social and emotional support dog.       

  • TVE celebrated Bullying Prevention Month with a variety of classroom activities. 

  • SRO Garbig started presenting drug & violence prevention lessons at each grade level.  These lessons continued throughout the year.

  • Oct. 19th & 21st  – We had nearly 100% attendance for our Fall Parent Teacher Conferences.

  • Oct. 19th KONA Ice made their first visit of the year to Tri-Village.  This would happen monthly throughout the year.   

  • Oct. 25th – 29th – Students participated in Red Ribbon Week led by our School Success Liaison and our Youth and Family Advocate.  

  • 3rd Grade successfully completed the Fall 3rd Grade State ELA Test.   

 

November 

  • Nov. 12th – The first Virtual Patriot Buck Assembly of the year recognizing students hard work and accomplishments for the 1st quarter.  This happened every quarter.  

  • Nov. 11th – Veterans Day Breakfast   

  • Nov. 11th K-3 participated in the Arts in Education Assembly.

  • Nov. 18th was the Tri-Village Spelling Bee.

  • Nov. 22nd The Mobile Dentist visited our students.    

December: 

  • Dec. 6th – 10th Students participated in the Key Club Spirit Week.  

 

January: 

  • Winter MAP Testing was completed in just one week due to our 1:1 initiative. 

  • TVE students participated in the county spelling bee. 

 

February: 

  • Round two of Parent Teacher Conferences took place and again we had nearly 100% of students represented.  

 

March 

  • We had a resurrection of the PATS Program spearheaded by Sarah Eley, Brittani Hampton, and Natasha Denlinger.  They raised over $3,000 through a Little Caesar’s fundraiser for the Elementary Principal’s Fund.  

 

April 

  • Students in grade 3-6 completed the ELA State Testing.

  • April 11th-22nd students participated in Drug Awareness Week spearheaded by Amanda Dyson and Kelly Harrison.  

 

May

  • Students in Grades 3-6 completed the Math & Science State Testing.

  • May 2nd our Staff was recognized and served lunch for Teacher Appreciation Week.

  • Spring MAP Testing was successfully completed.  

  • May 16th – 20th 2nd grade successfully completed the CogAT assessment.   

  • May 13th K-2 students participated in Field Day.

  • May 13th Special Education students participated in a county Field Day at Greenville High School.

  • May 18th K-6 students participated in our 1st annual Disabilities Day.  This was spearheaded by Jessie Hoffman and support by Darke DD.    

  • May 20th grades 3-6 participated in Field Day.

  • May 26th Kindergarten students participated in Kindergarten Recognition.

 

June

  • June 2nd staff participated in the 1st annual end of the year Tri-Village Staff Banquet.  

 

Overall Successes: 

  • Successful implementation of our new IXL Curriculum.

  • Lunch with the Principal was held monthly where students ate pizza as a reward for positive behavior.

  • A Patriot of the Month was chosen monthly after being nominated by grade level staff for positive behavior.

  • Patriots of the Week were chosen weekly from each grade level for positive behavior.

  • Each month every teacher awarded a gold coin to a deserving student to use the newly purchased Book Vending Machine.    
  • Each grade level participated in 2 Field Trips this year.
